Our powerful mapping and display application, RSI AVL, is a configurable Web-browser based mapping and reporting application.  The system provides operations personnel the capability to rapidly, geographically analyze the GPS information and make critical decisions. The RSI AVL application is based on ESRI ArcGIS Server, a true Geographic Information System (GIS), which is a Web browser interface displaying data that is collected from the mobile units. Users interact with the system through user-friendly, AVL specialized mapping tools as well as customized reporting applications.  This base application can be hosted either offsite by RSI or at the Client’s facilities. RSI also offers a true thick client application based on the ArcGIS 9.3 desktop application.

The RSI AVL Application displays the current location and status of the vehicle fleet, along with address, route, and other attribute information, over both raster and vector-based maps. The use of a powerful ESRI GIS engine along with the incorporation of vector map data allows for almost endless display and analysis possibilities.  A wide variety of customizable functionality is available.

The vehicle icons may be configured to indicate (using colors, directional symbols, labels, and size) various vehicle attributes (such as ID, status, mileage, speed, heading, etc.).  All of the vehicle attribute data may be instantly queried and displayed in a pop-up box using a standard identify tool.  Further, alarm and event notification may be set to notify the user of a status change for a particular vehicle. The assignment of user-permission levels allows access to appropriate sub-sets of the installed functionality.
